Solaris 10 Update from U7 to u10 and patching
i have completed a Manual Update on Solaris 10 (update7) to Update 10. The root file system space was too small and the Upgrade intervened and increased the root file system from 20Gb to 23Gb.
I have applied the patches therafter (Jul2012) , the zone was then attached and then after the boot of the zone i asked the applications people to test. They said that there appliction was happy.
Is this a safe way of doing an upgrade? This a very helpful feature as there are many root file systems which are too small to update. What will happen if a non-global zone's root file system is too small to update?
