Data with Leading zeros to Excel

Hello,

We have a GL segment that has leading zeros. When I create an XML report and output it to Excel the data is treated as a number and the leading zeros disappear. The template is an RTF template. Does anyone have an idea on how to trick excel to treat the data as text, keeping the leading zeros?
