R20 - Web Applet buttons appearing on the new TAB functionality

in CRM On Demand - Administration (MOSC) Question
We have made use of the web applet 'buttons' on our Account object. 

Prior to release 20, the web applet code included the following code and the related item section did not display the web applet.

the code excerpt:

<script type="text/javascript">
    hide_this_applet();
</script>

When switching to R20 and changing the Related Information Format from null to TABs, the Web Applet is no longer hidden.

I will do an SR, but since Oracle says they don't support the custom code for 'web applets' not sure if I will get an answer.

Any suggestions ???
