Impact of unposted Journal?

Hi Gurus,

I needed to open an old closed GL period which belongs to previous closed financial year , to allow an AP invoice accounting going through, this invoice was highlighted on Subledger exception report.

After opeining the OLD period , i have run the Create Accounting program which have created a journals in old period and journals in current open peiord. The journal created in OLD period is with ZERO values,as the values are zeros, instead of deleting the journal, can i leave it unposted, which is the same result as deleting the journal. Is there any impact of not posting the journal??
