hide unused parameters for a report

Hi,BI Publisher by design allows you to create many reports for 1 data model. There is something however that doesn't make sense to me: there is no way to hide unused parameters for a given report.
For example, if we want to create a multipurpose data model, we are going to add as many parameters as possible. The problem is that ALL this parameters will appear for EVERY reports sharing same data model even if some are not need, which is very confusing for our end users.
-> we end up creating as many data models as reports... :-(
any idea?
