Lot Allocation Control - R46171

JDE Distribution Community,

I'm looking for some input from JDE users that are using Lot Management.  Has anyone experimented with force allocating sales orders using R46171 to specified lot / serial numbers?  We store inventory under the same UPC but with different configurations for different customers.  (Customized retail packs, etc.)  I want to segregate the inventory using different lot numbers, which seems possible, but I can't find any info on forcing the allocation to a specified lot using R46171.
