Hello,

I haven't tested the procedure for real.

My current strategy is to run applications in NGZ only.
So, from time to time, I just take a recursive snapshot (-rc) of the NGZs roots and send the stream elsewhere.
In case of disaster the GZ can be fully rebuilt by a Custom JumpStart and then fully updated via smpatch+patchsvr.
Obviously, the main implications of this strategy are:

  • A time-consuming update (there are dozens of patches since DVD media for update 10);
  • The recovered system will be different (more updated);
  • Previous BE will be lost forever.
