How can you change an items status from Inventory Demand in the sourcing workbench?

In the sourcing workbech there are items that were sourced to inventory but have a status of INV Demand. The status can not be changed it is grayed out and the requisitions can not be closed because the requisition line status is "sourcing in proccess" . Does anyone know to change this status so these requisitions can be claosed? Also, why an item would be stuck in this status (INV DEMAND) The requisitions were created in eProcurement.
