What is default Clearing Balancing segment Value

Hi,I'm trying to setup Intracompany Balancing rule and faced following error message:
'You selected a Clearing Option that requires a Default Clearing Balancing Segment Value, but you have not entered a value for the Default Clearing Balancing Segment Value. Enter a value for the Default Clearing Balancing Segment Value and click Apply.'
I checked in metalink/User Guide/Implementation Guide, but no luck
Can anyone explain me what is Default Clearing Balancing Segment Value and its significance.
