question on approval of cycle count

Hello All, I have a question on the approval cycle count.  Say for item ABC, the system shows that it has 5 pcs but after cycle count, we only have 3 pcs.  If we apporve it right away, I believe the system will make the correction to show item ABC has 3 pcs.  The scenario is what if the approval doesn't happen immediately and there is a receipt transaction of 4 pcs of ABC which will bring ABC to 9 pcs (5 onhand + 4 receipt) from the system point of view.  Now if the approval of the cycle count occurs, will the system still change 3
