Upgrade from 1.2.0.2.0 to 11.2.0.3.3

Hi,
I need to upgrade one of my Database 11.2.0.2.0 EE on AIX 64bit to Oracle Database 11.2.0.3. I want to apply PSU 11.2.0.3.3 at the same time. So, my question is:
May I proceed thsi way?

1. Install 11.2.0.3 Patch in a new ORACLE_HOME
2. Upgrade OPatch (if required)
3. Apply PSU on that new ORACLE_HOME
4. Patch the database to 11.2.0.3.3

Or do I need to upgrade the database first to 11.2.0.3 and then apply PSU on the upgraded database?
