OS discovery/management process in OC 12c U1
Hi all,
I see that the new way of discovering OS assets gives you the choice of either deploying the agent bundle or probing the asset regularly via ssh. If you initially decide to do ssh probing and later on decide to have a agent controller installed, what is the preferred way of doing this ?
With 11g I was taught that the preferred way of doing the agent controller installation was via a OCDoctor preinstallation check followed by the installation itself on the asset globalzone. This way we could start the agent controller in the globalzone without also having to start agent controllers in the local zones (if there were any). Starting an agent controller in the global zone only was (is ?) a good thing since the agent processes consumed a lot of resources if deployed in all local zones on systems having many zones. Is this method obsolete and not a preferred way
