Termination of Warranty Contracts with Mass Edit/ Update?

We just recently began using the Mass Edit feature for Install Base (11.5.10).  We have found that the warranty contracts on item instances are terminating.  The contract itself is set up to transfer.  Does anyone know a work around for this or if it's a bug?
