Purchase Order Approval Not moving Purchase order status after Approval – JDE 9.10

Problem Description

The last and next statuses of my purchase orders are not moving to approved, after the PO has been approved by the 1st level approver. When there are two approvers on an approval route and the 1st approver's value is sufficienct to approve the order. After the 1st approver has approved the order, the status of the order does not change.
In orders awaiting approval screen however the order shows as approved.
What could be the problem here?
