Oracle scheduler and maintenance window
I'd very much appreciate some help on understanding what's going on with the scheduler in 11g or some pointers to how I find out what's happening.
First some background info: This is Oracle 11g Standard Edition on a RHEL 5 Linux server. The databse was created in July and all the scheduler adminstration was left with the default settings.
A user has a small script which he executes at 00.40am every day of the week. Tuesday to Saturday the script typically completes in 12-15s. On Sunday and Monday it usually takes in the region of 140s. This is an online db and we have no reason to believe the load on the db is significantly different at week ends and certainly not at 00:40am. So I started to investigate what else might be happening at that time in the morning.
