Sub ledger tables are growing exponentially

Team,

We are in 12.1.3 release.  Our sub ledger tables (Costing partition) are growing vigorously.  We are tired of allocating tablespace to it.   We are using Order Management and we are in retail business.

Does anyone experience similar problem?  Is there any workaround for this?  Oracle Support recommends to use third party tool to archive and purge the SLA tables.  Is this the only solution or any change in the setup can contain the growth.
