Online Editor Layout Grid Being Converted to Table in RTF Output

It looks like if you've created your layout via the BI Publisher online editor, and you output that layout to an RTF file, that layout's layout grid is converted to a table in the resulting RTF file. Is there any way to prevent this? I know that you can use RTF supporting programs like Word or Open Office to convert a table to text, but it would be nice if the layout grid information could just automatically come over as text.
