Getting error when updating attributes for contract items

When trying to update attributes in Service tab for item to be covered in contracts getting error message. 'Since onhand trackable exists item can not be tracked in Install base. Attached screenshot for error message.

Can we write a script to update these attributes.

What is the best way to update item attribute for this scenario
