I-Supplier Portal Advanced Shipment Notice - Barcode Label Field

Does anyone know what the Barcode Label field on the Advanced Shipment Notice creation in I-Supplier does?  I have a prospect asking if Suppliers can create 2D Barcodes upon creation of the ASN, and know they will ask what this field does and I can't find any specific information.  Any ideas are appreciated.
