Service Request sequence increment by 2 - can I alter this

Hi,
we are having issues with SR creation, sequence - "CS_INCIDENTS_NUMBER_S" creates with even numbers due to sequence increment by 2 option by default. Can I alter this sequence to increment by 1, has anyone done this? if so, what's the impact.
