No date in MTL_DEMAND table.

Dear experts,
Customer said in a newly implemented instance, there is no data record in MTL_DEMAND table.
However, he is able to see the correct Item Supply/Demand information via the form and in MTL_SUPPLY_DEMAND_TEMP table the demand information is there.
He 'd like to know whether MTL_DEMAND table is still used in R12. Or is there any configuration to make data populated to MTL_DEMAND table?
Why there is no data in MTL_DEMAND table ?
Planning Manager is active.
