Depot Repair - Task Mode vs WIP Mode

Return and Repair

If I have to return a Org A, Repair in Org A but finish off to Org B and Ship from Org B - would Task Mode work or should I be usiing WIP Mode.  Understanding that I can do an inter-org transfer - even if I use Task Mode.  What is the best way to manage these types of repairs.
