*** Archive and Restore ***

I stopped the application and forced archive the database.  Then, cleared the data and restructured the outline and tried to restore.  I get the following error.

Error : Database need to be unloaded before performing restore. Please unload the database and try again.

What is unload the database mean and what is the process?
