The Item work flow should trigger the Re-approval routing process if the approved item has got updat

Current delivered Peoplesoft Item work flow has been designed with very limited functionality. Once the item is approved by approver no more further approval is required. For Example if the item has been created and approved with 50.00 EA, upon this first approval, the item entry clerk can update any higher price. This will not trigger any notice or will not change the status from Active to Pending.

Expectation in public sector entity is, the item status has to be updated with Active to pending and should reinitiate the re-approval process through WL. This is not happing. Wondering any work around or how this has been addressed in Peoplesoft purchasing / procurement community?
