PO Receipts via EDI ASNI on Blanket Releases

Can I process an ASNI inbound EDI ASN into PO Receipts against a Blanket PO Release without the PO Release Number?  If I have two releases for 50 each open and the EDI ASNI comes in showing a total shipped quantity of 90, would it post a receipt of 50 against Release 1 and then post the remaining 40 against Release 2, or does the Receipt process for ASNI require the PO Release Number to match?
