ledger and currency strategy for Shared services operations

Hi Experts,

I looking for suggestions and experience around the following questions

1. In a typical implementation of Oracle R12 in a shared service environment involving countries in Latin America, what is the currency of the primary ledger. The shared service center is based in USA

2. Do localizations apply only to primary ledger or does it apply to secondary ledger
