Pay Grade Step with Future Effective Date
Q: Is it possible to set up new pay grade steps with a future date and not impact current processing?
A: You can set up the new pay grade steps with a future effective date and have no issues. When you set up the Pay Grades by Class & Pay Grade Step Table on G08J4 with (for example, a 12/31/12 date), the program will not recognize those values before 12/31/12. If you try to enter a new pay grade step on the Employee Master now, with a future effective date, you will get error 1469, Invalid Pay Grade or Pay Grade Step. When 12/31/12 rolls around, the program will except the new pay grade step combo.
