performance with XML/BI Publisher

I have noticed that some of the reports in XML Publisher(BI Publisher) are runnign for some time.  The reports complete fine but take a while to complete.  I have especially noticed this with the FSG's.  The old ADI client completes a lot faster then the WEBADI(XML publisher).  But again i have seen it with more then just the FSG's.  An y ideas to improve the performance?
