M4000 and 8 GB DIMM woes.
Hello everyone,
I have a M4000 with 96 GB RAM. There are 4 MEMB. Each MEMB has 4 * 4 GB DIMMS in Slot A and 4 * 2 GB DIMMS in Slot B. this was done as per memory config guide, which clearly states that the larger memory DIMMS should be placed in the A Slots and the smaller one in the B Slot. So each board has 24 GB memory. So total 4 MEMB makes it 96 GB. So far so good.
I have 16 * 8 GB DIMMS from an old server. I want to remove the 2 GB DIMMS and insert the 8 GB DIMMS in its place. For that it is required to push the 4 GB DIMMS in Slot B. and instead place 8 GB DIMMS in slot A as per handbook requirements again.
