What is correct process to restart HFM services and IIS reset?

Hi Experts,
Could you please help me to understand what is correct process to bounce HFM when HFM Apps are not responding.


We recycle HFM and IIS reset both and mostly it resolved the issue.

I need to understand why and when we need bounce of-

1) IIS reset
2) HFM bounce
3) IIS and HFM bounce both
