BI Publisher Data Model Query with Swedish Special Characters

 Hi,
We have a BI Publisher report that retrieves records using a SQL Query that has special characters. It used to work with 10.1.3.4.1 version earlier. Now we have upgraded to 10.1.3.4.2 (10.1.3.4.2 Patch 14274764). We are not allowed to save a record if the Data model query has a Swedish special character(,å,ä,ö).
When I google for the problem, I find (12879801 - ALLOW SAVING DATA MODEL WITH SPECIAL CHARACTER) being fixed for v 11. Not sure if applies to version 10.

Please advice.
