LDAP Installation

We are building a production env with LDAP, Gateway cluster and third party application servr load balancer. These features are not installed in all the lower env. Is it better to configure the default security authentication on the first Prod installation? Then changing to LDAP after appplication is installed successfully and running. Is it easy to add LDAP afterward or should I install LDAP on the first installation?
