Is it possible to use Alternate BOM in EAM

Hi ,I have one defined BOM for specific asset group, but in such group we have multiple models, i need to classify asset BOM by model, so instead of defining new group for each model i think to use alternate BOM where alternate name is the model, and at the level of selecting from BOM at work order, i can filter which BOM to use for such asset group. But unfortunately APPS displays only primary BOM although it accepted to define alternate BOM for the same group. If any body has recommendation i would be grateful.
