Put default zero for all years to a certain account

 Hi, 
I'm a new to Oracle and was asked to support a user with his issue. 

The issue is that the JV is configured to use YTD, but sometimes they wanted to pull out data in Periodic. 
When no amount is posted for a particular month, the system defaults the value to zero, and converting from YTD to Periodic will not be an issue.

The issue started when the upload file that the user was using was changed. One of the accounts has been deleted, and the system can’t default the field to zero. Instead, it takes the difference of the amount with blank entry and subtracts it to the previous month’s balance, causing a negative result.
