Printed Oracle output after upgrade to Office 2010

We are running Oracle R12.1.3 and recently upgraded our PC's to Office 2010.  Honestly I'm just not sure where to put this question, but it came up while trying to print out the Trial Balance.  Now that we've upgraded to Office 2010 we're seeing some issues:

1) Now when we run a concurrent process and want to open it by selecting View Output we get a big Excel warning that 'The file you are trying to open; 'FNDWRR.xls', is in a different format than specified.....'   Apparently the 2010 extenstion for Excel is now .xlsx.  Can we reset this somewhere in Oracle so that it uses this extenstion instead?  This really messes with our users and we have a security group that doesn't let us use the registry setting to not show this message.

Howdy, Stranger!
