PRC: Generate Accounting Events

we are in the process of upgrading to R12 and are experiencing severe performance issues with the PRC: Generate Accounting Events process.  this process has run over a weekend without completing.has anyone seen issues with this process?   we've tuned with grid and have implemented the profile recommendation with no improvement.  and have changed some app parameters per oracle also without improvement.
