Why was WWN syntax in place of local unique target ID adopted in T3, T4 Servers ?
Hello
I have a question about the difference of logical device name of HDDs.
Since T3-x and T4-x was released Solaris lists c0tWWNd0 as device identifier and before that
c0txd0 was used.
Would any tell me
- why this change was needed ?
- What the merit of this change is ?
I can suppose this change was due to adopting new SAS 6G controller and newly developed driver
but I do not know what's the merit for users.
Thank you very much.
