503 Service Temporarily Unavailable - DMZ external tier setup with reverse proxy server

 I'm trying to setup an external web tier in a DMZ environment with reverse proxy server. I have completed all the steps but I receive the following error when I try to access the EBS from external URL. Has anybody experienced this issue? Is there a log file that I can check?

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
