installing Oracle 11g

Hello,

I've installed oracle 11g on linux 86.  And when trying to create a database via dbca, I get the unexpected hot spot error.   I've done some research, and have found that this is a known bug when trying to install  32 bit software on a 64 bit OS.  I've also found the patch for this.  However, both the software and OS are 32 bit.  Is there anything else that could be causing this?  Should I still apply the patch?
