Changing Part and/or Serial Numbers

Hello!

My company has come across some parts we have that have had their part number changed by our vendor. To reflect these changes we obviously want to update our system to show the new part number. However there doesn't seem to be a method in CRM to change a part number from 'A' to 'B'.

We also have the same need to do this with serial numbers.

My questions to you guys.... is there a method to do this i am not aware of? I am sure my company isn't the only one trying to achieve this same effect.
