Does anyone have any tips on troubleshooting performance issues with the PRC: Create Accounting proc

We are attempting to close for month end, and we cannot get the PRC: Create Accounting process to complete.  Anyone experienced this, and if so, is there anything that you know of that we should be checking for?  Any tips on troubleshooting it would be appreciated.
