Extract not working

Our first extract is being created on a MSSQL 2005 node with v10 Goldengate. The RMTTRAIL gets created on the target and the FileHeader written, but no records are written (from Inserting into the source table). The Table name is SYNCCK in DB GGSSYNC.
K:\SQL_Transaction_Logs\ggsync_log.ldf is the Tranlog but the following explicit TRANLOGOPTIONS param, with or w/o a quoted filename causes an Abend with a NULL handle on the file, so I commented it out:
TRANLOGOPTIONS ALTONLINELOGS (K:\SQL_Transaction_Logs\ggsync_log.ldf)
