Increase Item Master Part Number Length (ie, Key Flexfield value for mtl_system_items_b.segment1)

Currently we have a key flexfield value length of 18 for part number (mtl_system_items_b.segment1). We are looking to increase that value to 25. I went and replaced the assigned current value set with a length of 18 with a new value set with a length of 25. Is there anything else I need to be concerned with regarding the application functioning with this new increased length definition?
