Re: Error while copying backups to Tape

Hi All,

=> Environment Details:

Database : Oracle (11.2.0.2)

MML: Veritas NetBackup (NetBackup-RedHat2.6 6.5.6)

OS: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)

Tool used for Backup : RMAN

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

=> Problem: 

 We use RMAN to backup the database to disk, and then backup is copied from disk to tape.

 All this process is automated through shell scripting & scheduled in crontab.

 Sometimes we get the following error while copying backup to tape:

RMAN-03009: failure of backup command on CH1 channel at 10/15/2012 23:28:13

ORA-19506: failed to create sequential file,

name="XXXXX_10_15_2012_796778079.ctl", parms=""

ORA-27028: skgfqcre: sbtbackup returned error

ORA-19511: Error received from media manager layer, error text:

VxBSACreateObject: Failed with error:
