Can the 2-system upgrade approach for EM 12c be applied to same host?

I would like to upgrade Enterprise manager 10.2.0.5 to EM 12c using the 2-system approach(upgrade a copy of the OMS repository) but to the same host. Is that possible?To get a look at 12c, I installed a clean new system on this same host. Is it possbile to upgrade a copy of the 10g OMS repository once 12c has already been installed?
