cancel closed order lines

I have two lines on an order that need to be cancelled but the order is closed.  Trying to cancel the lines in Order Management - obviously I can't cancel lines that are closed.  Is there a work around or sql script that will manipulate the situation behind the scenes and cancel the two lines?
