number of futurable periods

 Hello,
At the time of creation of ledger,i see number of future periods?what does it mean?i have defined 27 periods in fiscal year calender(opn+12month+12adjust+closing adj+closing period)

Is there any link between this field with accounting periods(calender)?

I see futureable period field in financial option in payables?what is it mean?
