UOM on MSCA shows UOM Code and Unit Of Measure when receiving
Hi,
When receiving the UOM is shown as UOM_CODE (UNIT_OF_MEASURE), e.g. 73 (120 EA). In our setup, we have multiple UOM codes for different sizes, so Crtn 120, Crtn 40 for example. Due to the 3 character limitation of UOM CODE we have used ids, such as 73. However, since the UOM is shown by UOM_CODE how do warehouse staff correctly query Crtn 120 ?
We currently have 500 + UOMs and many of them include a multiplier. So for example, we have Box 12, Box 50, Box 10, Box 100 etc
You might ask why then didnt we do B12, B50, B10 for the UOM Code, but how would you do Box 100 ? B100 excedes the 3 characters, this is why arbitrary nos. are used. On standard screens such as the Purchase Order Form and the iProcurment Non-Catalog request screen, you are able to search by the UNIT_OF_MEASURE field (Box 100), rather than on the UOM_CODE.
