Appraisal - SSHR - Validations

HI,

I want to some validations on the Appraisal screen. (launched from SSHR)

Eg. The employee should select only "Standard Appraisal" from the lov and not "Self or 360 degree appraisal".

The template selected should match with the grade of the employee etc.

How to achieve it.

Can it be handled through OAF screen personalization or through user hooks

In case I can use user hooks should I use CREATE_APPRAISAL_A or CREATE_APPRAISAL_TEMPLATE_A user hooks.
