UEK vs OL, specifically when being used with Oracle 11gR2

I am in need of sound facts why I should be using UEK versus OL when building out 11gR2 instances.  We build out two types of database stacks, 1) 2Socket RAC cluster 2) 8Socket stand alone.  I understand the UEK offers performance improvements with the 8 socket installs so that is a no brainer.  What about UEK versus OL on the 2 socket side?  Will I see performance improvements, better support from oracle?  Also which version of UEK, 6.3?
